Chiang Rai Hotels

I am planning to stay 2 nights in Chiang Rai at the end of December. I am looking for a simple but good located hotel ( up to 60 dollars) close to the bus station or downtown .
If you know any other one further away, is still fine, but please let me know tuk tuk availability. Thank you !

We stayed at La Luna. It was fine. Nice pool. Breakfast was a bit disappointing.

Also have a look at the Wangcome Hotel. Its located very centrally and would fit in the budget you are planning. It doesn't have too many bells and whistles but its clean.

www.booking.com/city/th/chiang-rai.en.html -

Ranked reviews La Luna best bet

several other good ones even cheaper

AC is a good idea get that if you can...

Legend best albeit a bit over budget.

Happy Hunting!

End of December the temperature in Chiang Rai is often quite cool especially at night so IMO AC or a pool is not really important. Also, that is the most expensive time of the year as well, between Christmas and New Year so I would book now.

Take a look at this link: http://www.sawadee.com/hotel/chiangrai/

The location you want is "Muang" or "Muang +...." for the most central. Expect end December to be more expensive than the quoted rate.
