Sabrina
Princess is my favorite cruise line. I hope you will post a nice report about your cruise, once you return to BOS (or post WHILE cruising, if you want to spend the $$$ to use their internet!!)... The cruise sounds lovely.

I am coming to the BOS GTG from Illinois. Cannot possibly bring all of my photo albums in my suitcase, but I will have my laptop with me, and I've got oooooooodles of pictures of Thailand and lots of other places too. I'll share.. and I'm sure others will too.

Hi All,

Count me in as well. I'm new to the board, but have been so impressed by everyone's willingness to help out fellow travelers. I spent three great weeks in China last fall and have a three week trip to India set for December 16 of this year. (I'm flying on the new non stop Continental flight to Delhi)

It would be great to hesr about your trips to India and any insights and tips you would have for me. I look forward to meeting some of the terrific folks (and terrific characters) on this board.

Thanks for the open invite. Very gracious of you

Patricia

Bob, I will send you an email directly with my email address.

Now if we can just get Gloria to say she'll join us... that would be great! What about it, Gloria? I see on another thread that you live in Chicago, and I'm flying OUT of ORD, though I live downstate a ways... my UAL fare is non-stop to Manchester NH, where I've got a rental car. I prefer arriving away from Boston, but don't mind driving around NE for a few days while I'm in the neighborhood. If you fly from ORD to BOS, you'll probably find a good fare! You need to bite the bullet and come join us!!

For Gloria and any others considering attending, please be advised that Bob has promised to give a seminar on how to ingratiate oneself with hotel managers worldwide. His topics include "Simpering Body Language", " Subtle Obsequiousness" and the ever-popular " Grandstanding Gratuities". A video entitled "Demanding and Obtaining Free Upgrades" will accompany the presentation. There will be a small fee to cover "expenses". How can one resist?

Patricia, I look forward to hearing about your India plans at the GTG. Also look forward to hearing how the Continental flight works out. I see on your other post that you did not get an answer on which leg to drive: Agra - Jaipur is not a particularly long drive - there was much to see.

Smiles3USA- Don't worry about packing! Back in the 9os when I first went to Southeast Asia, I took exactly 1 carry-on suitcase(without wheels) and an old beatup Kipling, nylon bookbag that was around 14"x14" in size with a zipper down the middle. I remember when my mom came by my house to pick me up to drive me to Los Angeles airport and she said to me that I'd better go back into the house and get the rest of my luggage. I responded that that WAS all of my luggage and she just stared at me with her mouth open. Now, I'm female and love to dress up and I did it with that one carry-on and I was gone for THREE weeks and traveled alone around Bali,Singapore, Chiangmai, and Bangkok. If you buy a huge plastic container (Target) and just put ALL of your travel items/clothing in it, then you just pull the stuff out and drop it into the suitcase. Put all the toiletries in zip lock bags so that you can see what's inside and when you get back from a trip don't return those zip lock bags to the big container until they are refilled and ready for the next trip! I can pack in less than an hour usually...except for trips to Paris since I'm totally into fashion. Then it takes about 2 hours! See you at the get together. I'll be flying in from L.A. Happy Travels!

OK, Guenmai is going to teach the women a seminar on packing light! I desparately need that one! Bob does his hotel upgradess talk, and Andy sits in his cage eating bamboo and scraps and looking huggable. Anyone else going to educate us in some way?

LOL

I'll tell Brad about Ming's chili. I'm sure that will be a pure temptation that he can't resist.

As far as seminars go, I suppose I could come up with market shopping. I am hoping to have "just been back in BKK" when we have the Bos GTG, so I should have "fresh" information, and new items to sample!

Carol

(still waiting for Gloria to decide to join us...)

Carole-- I probably won't be able to make a final decision until September as I may have to be here that weekend for an event for the theatre company for which I serve as Board President. We're in the planning stages of something that will either be that weekend or the one after and we probably won't know for sure until after labor day. I definitely hope to make it.

In the meantime, if you ever are going to be in Chicago and have some free time perhaps we could meet for lunch or dinner.

e's are the least of those things which are absent from Bob. Of course, one wonders how he spells "Robert". Probably as creatively as he spells everything else.

To Bob (with no e)
The thread on the Europe forum has dropped out of sight (again). Are you getting anymore takers from there?

i had it up last nite and added a name or two....i find now the best way to search is to search by clicking on my initials and then scroll down through the topics....it does not work for me the standard way of putting in the subject and clicking.....

carol---we are going to have quite a few people and lots of new people if everyone is able to show up...
