Where Did It Go?

No, Vic, I don't want to try Orbitz. Thanks, bt I want to go directly to BA. I don't trust anybody, including your wife. What does she do, go snooping on each and every thread on Fodors to see what you think of her? You need to work on your marriage.

I gave up and went through my travel agency. The fare was much higher than what I saw posted on the BA website. I was contacted four days later by my T?A saying that the fare had gone down by $200, and that she would re-issue my ticket. Will they keep doing that till it reaches the minimum fare? And, what if it goes up? What's the deal?

Travel agencies can cancel tickets issued within one week for no or little penalty if the fare goes down. You are protected if the fare goes up...no re issuing. If the fare goes down again, after one week, your agent can request a 'downgrade' from BA and reissue at the lower fare. If your agent has a good rep with BA there may be no penalty. Looks like your agent is looking after you. Lucky woman.
Josie

The fare you saw on BAs web site may have been an accident, like the $5.00
fare to Paris on United. It was pulled when they discovered the missing zeroes.

Fares are subject to change without notice. Most airlines let you exchange
a ticket when the fare goes down, as long as seats are available for sale at that price, and you meet all the rules of the new fare.

I've seen it happen up to 3 times on one ticket. Very rare--passenger booked way ahead.

Doesn't always work with web site bookings or consolidator fares.
