Virgin's Premium Economy
Has anyone been on Virgin's New Premium Economy yet and is it any better than the old ?.
They are supposedly updating all their fleet beginning at Heathrow then on to Gatwick.

Hi,
I had a look at the new premium cabin on a Delhi flight last month. Seats look very big, almost as big as the 'old style' business class seats. Also in a purple leather with a good size arm rest and leg support.
I believe they now have a dedicated cabin crew and a different food service from economy. Virgin are really promoting this new cabin and when it is fully fitted in around 2008 it will take a lot of business from the other carriers if they do not revamp their PE cabins.
Is it any better than the old model.... YES, by a long way. However they seem to be refitting the 340-600's first then the 747's so check what plane is on the route you are flying. As they have only refitted about 8 of the 346's in the fleet you will be taking a gamble at the moment in getting them.
Rather than gamble on 'will you- won't you' get the seat, spend the extra and go Upper Class which is by far IMO the best business class experience out there.

In that case, I assume the one listed at http://www.seatguru.com/charts/premium_economy.php is the old. If so, do you have info on the new stats?
I ask because I am considering it.
