Southwest, passport and ID

We are flying domestic, and flew SW before, cannot remember if we used passports or state IDs to check in. Should we bring our passports?

I tried to look up our SW accounts to see if we registered date of birth, gender, either ID or passport number - don't see that page.

What will happen if we bring IDs, but our passports are registered? We would like to leave our passports at home.

Check the name on your reservation. If it matches your state ID then you're good to go.

ID # or passport # is not relevant for domestic flight.

Lots of passengers on Southwest don't have passports so, yes, what J62 said, driver's license or gov't ID with name that matches your reservation.

What if last time we used passports (it's possible we took a cruise out of US that needed passport) but this time show up with IDs only?

I don't worry about name matching, those are the same on all documents.

You're worrying about nothing.

The only thing that matters is that you have an ID that verifies your identity.

There is no record of your ID #, passport #, or other # that needs to be cross referenced.

I dunno, I've met Dayenu and she does look very much like a terrorist. They probably have her on some watch list and she will be arrested on the spot for not bringing her passport. Dayenu, stop causing trouble for the poor airlines!! You'd better cancel your trip if you want to stay out of jail.

Ok seriously--When flying domestically I only bring my driver's license. They don't know or care if you used a passport last time you flew with that same airline.

Have a great trip.

Ha, P_M is just jealous that I get pat-down and she does not! She's jealous of my free massage in the airport

Well... you know... strange things come to mind when you get the first wave of pre-trip anxiety

As others have said, you don't need a passport. You are heading to NEW Mexico, which last time I checked is still part of the
US of A and therefore a domestic flight.

Seriously, state ID with Photo is all you need. Even if you had used a passport as ID before on Southwest, won't matter. The TSA checks your docs, not Southwest.

See you soon!

See you soon!
