Risk of strike
I'm about to purchase air tickets for next month from SF to Paris, and then returning in October from Rome to San Francisco. I'm worried about the recent wildcat strike by British Airways employees and the various threats of strike to other airlines. Any advice on which airlines are most likely to be present and running?

I'm on Northwest Wednesday, returning Friday from DC. The past month has not been pleasant, but people have been ending up where they needed to be at some point. There doesn't seem to be much support for the mechanics and Northwest is attempting to run its normal fall schedule (which has 17% less flights). I'm not incredibly worried about the airline continuing operations during the strike, but we shall see. It's just a very difficult financial environment for most airlines right now and Northwest has no choice about cutting its costs significantly. Unfortunate as it is for the people involved, allowing things to go on as if that was not the case is simply not an option.
