Rewriting Geography: AA does not acknowledge Havana???
hi
i've flown IB MAD to HAV & AA did not get the mileage credit for this section (although did get another section of a flight to MAD on the same day. the return flight was from SJ CR to MAD so no problem....
trying to fill the "Request Mileage Credit" form online i got the following message:
in red <red> his city is not available on AA.com. For assistance, please contact AA Reservations. </red>

dear <b> rkkwan - thanks!</b> i've noticed your phenomenal knowledge of AA in the past, but can't avoid admiring the quickness with which you find the relevant paragraph.
As for the issue: it's simply shocking
i've lost only a few miles, but i think of Cuba...
i hope Obama will put an end to this irrational U.S. foreign policy.

Whether you agree with it or not, AA is obligated to follow the U.S. trade embargo against Cuba and cannot grant FF miles for flights there. It's all the more unusual when you consider that AA does indeed fly to Cuba. Next time to fly through MIA, look at the monitors and you'll see a flight or two to Cuba listed. These are flights that the average passenger cannot book, of course.
