Has AA changed the rules for how miles expire?

I got an email from AA today telling me about a revamp to the AAdvantage section of the website. I clicked on the thingy about miles expiring, and it said they stay current if you fly every 18 months. At least that's how I read it. Up until now, they've stayed current if you use your AA credit card.

I hope I've just misread this. Anyone have any better information?

Thanks,
Celia

The FAQ as I read it says "earn or redeem miles." I don't think this is a change.
