MEXUS

Today's DMN reported the startup Mexus, a "Ryanair/Easy Jet clone" is planning service from DFW to various Mexican destinations. AA's response should interesting.

I think today AA has bigger worries than to care about a little LLC startup.

Southwest and JetBlue are the very real concern.

The new fare war that Delta started is probably the most single biggest worry as of few days ago.

The new startup will be limited to folks from Dallas area only. They don't have any feeder network, so it's really not in competition with AA in that sense. If I had to guess, this is aimed more at the local Texas Mexican-American population than anything else. The few vacationers will also be limited to folks from Dallas area.

I could be wrong, have been many times before, but I doubt you will see any response from AA at this time to MEXUS.

I dunno about that theory of no response from AA....

The Mexus web site looks SUSPICIOUSLY like a Southwest clone. Wouldn't surprise me a bit to see that there's more to MEXUS than meets the eye (maybe a built-in feeder network in the form of Southwest?)

It will be fun to watch and see...

Later,
Mark
