Flying Swiss Air in May

I am flying Swiss Air in May with my wife and 2 year-old and would like to know what the airline is like. I have heard that most international airlines are much better than U.S. airlines, but would like to hear from some people who have flown Swiss recently.

It was about 3 years ago that I flew from Zurich to Venice on Swiss, about an hour long flight. I had a meal with champagne and I was given Swiss chocolates, all for free. And I wasn't in First Class.

We flew international on Swiss last year from L.A. to Zurich and thought their service was excellent. Their meals were excellent and would come by a few times an hour offering water or snacks and such. There is plenty to keep you occupied inflight ie: movies, games. We would definately fly them again.

Since Swiss offers the only non-stop service from ORD to ZRH, we've flown them a number of times. I have no complaints that I can recall.

Flew them last week Geneva to JFK and because of stupid gate agent in Geneva got sent to cattle class instead of business. Needless to say I just wanted to leave that god awful place they called switzerland so I took the seat. My experience in cattle class is that it's okay I guess nothing to run home and talk about. I've flown cattle class on other airlines and some were good like on OS and Lufthansa.

Swiss Air was long the standard for international carriers. I don't know how it's been since the sale and reorganization, but the reputation seems to be there still.

Are you connecting in Zurich? If so, they have wonderful playrooms for kids.
