Flights from SF to Barcelona
I have a choice of several airlines for that route. Any suggestions on best airline as far as newer aircrafts, service and convenience?
Currently looking at Continental, USAir and Northwest/KLM

Seriously, none of these are very good choices.
I've already explained on your thread in the Europe board that CO flies the 757-200 from EWR-BCN. Which is one of the least comfortable aircrafts one can fly across the Atlantic in coach. Also a long narrowbody flight SFO-EWR, plus EWR is not the best place to transfer.
USAirways also means a long narrowbody flight to PHL (which is another poor place to transfer). PHL-BCN is a 767-300. Relatively old and no personal video screen, but at least its a widebody.
I'll pick KLM via AMS. AMS is a good airport for transfer, and while KL uses their relatively old 747-400 for SFO-AMS and no personal video screen, at least it's a widebody plane.
The other issue is departure and arrival times. Flying CO or US mean morning departure from SFO and morning arrival at BCN. KL means mid-afternoon departure and late-afternoon arrival.

I vote for BA, unless you want miles in economy. 20 channels to choose from and good movies in economy. Individual tv monitors and free alcohol in economy!!! Also, no announcements after the first hour until the last hour of flight like "the captain has turned on the fasten seatbelt sign." This does make for good sleeping.
Just make sure you don't have to change airports in London. That is a must!!!
