Delta Medallion Miles
I have never had any before, just regular skymiles. I now have some. What exactly are they and what do the give me that skymiles don't give me? I can't find a definition on delta.com
Thanks!

Medallion Qualification Miles (MQM) count toward annual elite qualification (Silver, Gold or Platinum Medallion). This chart lists the benefits and annual MQM required for each tier:

MQMs (EQMs on other airlines - for Elite Qualifying Miles) determine elite level for the next year. You can collect them over a calendar year - from Jan 1 to Dec 31. On new year's day, you are back to zero.
If you can get 25,000 MQM before Dec 31 of this year, then you'll become a medallion member from the day you cross the MQM threshold to Feb 28, 2009.
You cannot spend MQMs, and they have no value. Only for elite-qualifying purpose.

What? I don't like I'm in my 20's anymore? Huh!? I'm so offended!
[Anyways, I started flying in 1971, so I guess I can't be in my 20's anymore. ]
Here are the flights I've taken that I can substantiate:
