Merger with NW complete. Now they are the world's largest airline.

Just got an email from NW announcing the merger.

It said in the email that all FF miles will be good.

But, if I were you, I would try to use FF miles not because of the merger, but because there is always a possibility that any or all airlines will change their rules for trips using FF miles.

They just announced the merger. It's many months from being completed, if at all.

dusty - see my post under airlines. I have same question since miles never did get transferred from America West to USAirways when they merged.

Hardly complete but apparently quite probably going to happen.

I guess htings have changed since "Mr. Delta" trumpeted the "we're intent on remaining a stand alone carrier" blah blah blah after fending off the USAirways proposal.

The companies agree to the merger, but it is far from being approved -- many hoops yet to jump through.

I haven't seen anything about KLM, are they going to remain partners? Will they change from Northwest/KLM to Delta/KLM?

NW, DL, AF, KL, AZ and OK got preliminary approval for their anti-trust exemption last week from the US government. That's an expansion of the current NW/KL partnership. That allows those 6 airlines to co-market flights, share costs and share lots of information among themselves.

What has NOT been announced is AFKLM investing in DLNW.
