Zambia / Vic Falls / Chobe - help

I was wondering , would it be possible to pull together a 7 days holiday from Lusaka - around Vic Falls? Itīs possible to self drive? Stay 2 night in Vc Falls and then drive to Kasane?
Any suggestions are welcome.

Fil,

Your best option may be to spend a couple nights in Victoria Falls and then visit Hwange NP in Zimbabwe. It is a highly regarded park featurning the Big Five. Here are a couple camps to consider:

www.africanbushcamps.com (Somalisa)
www.thehide.com

It should be about a 2.5 hour drive from Victoria Falls, although if it were me, I would not do a self-drive, but I am not as adventurous as some.

I would recommend driving either going to Mana Pools(my preference) or Kafue. Then to VF(Livingstone), Chobe and then back to Livingstone to drop the vehicle off.

The Mana Pools route through to Kasane is very simple to do and not have problems navigating.Lots of good highway to drive between destinations. And Mana Pools is one of the finest parks IMO in Africa.

Tks Rocco and luangwablondes. If you ever need something from Angola, I would love to help.
1) Iīm a little concern about Zimbabwe... you consider safe to self drive to Mana Polls or Hwange NP?

Itīs possible to hire a car in Lusaka?

Tks again...

Filipa,

It would not be too expensive to have a road transfer provided from Victoria Falls to Hwange and back to Victoria Falls. Perhaps about $100 each way?

Safety is not an issue to drive to MAna Pools or Hwange. In Mana Pools case, it is less then 40kms from the Chirundu border to the park gate of Mana Pools without a village or town to drive through. Its remote.
Foleys of Livingstone rents 4x4's starting in Luasaka. There are other rental companies too, but this is the one I know of for sure that allows both the pickup/drop off and driving in Zim and Bot.
