Lily,
My Lily got her name at the local SPCA when I brought her to be spayed. Since she was a feral kitten, as all my cats were, she had no name. They called her by someone else's cat name, TigerLily, by mistake, so I just shortened it. Since I couldn't find homes for all the kittens I caught at that time (7) I kept her, her sweetie pie brother Freddie and another one we call Anna Mae. Caught Lady a year later just before we moved to Pa. who I believe is their sibling, and now trapping, neutering, and releasing the feral cats here in Lackawaxen,Pa. That is how we have Dawn, she was young enough to be tamed and of course couldn't find a home for her. That leaves the "old lady" Brooke who I caught many years ago in the Catskills. My son has my other old lady as she does not get along with all the newer additions. Only one dog though.

Hello Lily,

We are under the 2 month mark now! Exciting times....

I need some cat advice from you regarding my upcoming trip, if you have some spare time. Would you mind chatting off the board? I am at kingsis at aol dot com.

You'd think I would have all these concerns about our self drive itinerary in Southern Africa, but no....my ONLY worry is leaving my kitty alone for the first time with a stranger. I am just dreading the day I leave him.

@ carla
regarding your cat: i don't think it's too late right now. if i were in your shoes i would get a second cat. leaving both of them together they don't feel that lonely - of course they have to match.

i opened a thread at the lounge - maybe it's an interesting read for you as well.

Thanks for the link. Since the dogs are known to travel vast distances, I was wondering how they planned on keeping them in the area.

Carla, you can e mail me at lillipets at comcast dot net.
Let's see if that works better.

A Kori Bustard at the Pond, I think they are really cool.

Just read news from the Pond that one of the wild dogs was found caught in a snare, but darted and rescued, while the Alpha female is missing. Very sad to read. The rest of the pack is doing well.

Aha! Thanks for the i.d. I thought it might be a snake after I saw the shape of its head more clearly. It's been going on for quite a while.

Carla M, it was a magnificent leopard sighting. I almost jumped out of my chair when its movement caught my attention. That slow walk from the right to left side of the pond before stopping for a long drink. The focus was so clear we could almost count the spots!

I use two laptops at work. One is always on "Pond Patrol." Great day for voyers.

Thanks so much for the offer. That's very kind of you. However I don't have easy access to the internet when I'm at work. My kids hog the computer when I'm home. I've been able to find some of the good sightings on youtube which helps. Do you know if the sighting is on youtube yet?

LOL Lillipets! It would be great if a chime went off on my laptop when something arrives at the pond. I can't watch it at work (blocked)only when I am at home.

Here is the You Tube video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tik1pn0K_mA

Do you ever visit the Nat Geo forum? There are alot of gifs. and snapshots there of the sightings. Khakif, do you post there?

They have 2 local volunteers that arrived yesterday who will be helping out on the cam etc.

Lopang (he is from Serowe) and
Galeboe (she is from Mosetse)
