Forgot to mention, in the leopard video you can hear the jackal alarm calls.

Thanks for the link to youtube. Instead of a chime going off I need a siren to alert me and a shock that goes to the keyboard to get my kids off!
I'll have to be happy with the links to you tube.
I've tried going to the Nat'l Geo forum but I keep getting lost in all the postings. There was one day I found a lot of links to prev videos from the pond. But basically I find forum confusing! (can you tell I'm pretty computer illiterate?)

Yeah Lillipets, you got to see them! Your kids must be out of town~lol!

I logged off just minutes before they arrived to get to work. Was just looking at the photos and videos, one is very very pregnant and there may be a possiblility of a 2nd one that is pregnant! The first one looks as though it is already nursing!!! Very exciting.

Lots of birds, but most interesting this "peep" was a crock sunning him/herself and a large Water Leguaan strolling around. It looks like a link between reptiles and maybe an otter-type animal. Really cool.

I think there is someone actually running the camera at this moment -- I keep hearing them clear their throat or cough occasionally, and I heard some voices as well. Kind of a shock!

The pack of wild dogs just took on 2 waterbuck. The waterbuck stood their ground and chased the dogs away. What excitement!

smile to my face!! Thanks Carla.

I am off to Mashatu for 8 days in October and I hope I am fortunate enough to see these little guys. I look forward to seeing your photos and reading your report.

For those of you that remember Paul from Mashatu, he was one of the cam operators at Pete's Pond and did the walking tours at Mashatu. Yesterday, while cycling the Tour the Kruger (Mashatu to Kruger) Paul suddenly died. This is so sad and shocking to hear as we were just with him a month ago and I remember thinking to myself how fit and healthy he looked. He had such a passion for his work and bushlife, it was so obvious. Here is a photo that I took of him recently.

Yikes! That is so hard to believe! Does anyone know what happened? As usual Carla, you seem to have a direct line to all the info so please keep me posted. Thanks!
