CarlaM, thanks for sharing the YouTube video url.

The second baby seemed to be saying "Aw, mom, can't I stay a little longer? I'm not done playing yet." ;-)

Hi Lillipets! You are in countdown mode now too, right? Isn't it exciting?!

There wasn't a You Tube video of the wild dogs, just this short clip, but you can tell they are there. That was good enough for me!
They have a researcher at Mashatu, Craig, that is tracking them.

Thanks Carla,

I know Mashatu offers trips with their elephant and leopard researchers. Any chance of them adding Craig and the wild dogs as an option?

Here is a YouTube video from Jayell on the PP forum of the incredible elephant/wild dog interaction this morning.

The dogs have visited the pond 2 consecutive days since their release on Sat.

Lilipets, sorry I just noticed your question which was asked on the PP forum. It doesn't sound like visitors can drive with Craig (the wild dog researcher)at this time but they did say(and I saw on the cam) that the game drive vehicle was along side of Craig's vehicle. But I will be on top of the idea to be able to drive with Craig if possible and will keep you posted. Let me know if you hear anything also.

How many dogs are there? I think I counted at least 13 in the video.

There are 19, 9 adults and 9 juveniles. A few of them are collared but not the Alpha female.

A call just came into the hide from Craig (the wild dog researcher) that the dogs are near the vicinity of the pond right now. Hoping to catch of glimpse of them. They are doing well on their own, hunting on their own, love the impalas.

Carla,
You've been so lucky with seeing the wild dogs on the web cam that once you actually get to Mashatu the entire pack will probably be there to greet you in person!

Lillipets,

Have spent so much time reading these posts that so many screen names are so familiar to me. One of my 6 cats is named Lilly so I've been calling her Lillipets lately! First thing every morning I check out Pete's Pond, then come to Fodor's site. My husband is going to arrange an intervention for my addiction. Love you all,( except when I read about generalized negatives about Americans or our elected officials as I wouldn't presume to criticize any other country's politicians, esp. on this site. It's very impolite.)

My name is Lily and growing it was an unusual name. But it has become very popular now. I'm a vet tech and we see a lot of dogs and cats named Lily. It's odd, but I always feel bad when a dog or cat with my name behaves badly and I'm proud when they are angels!
I do the same thing you do in the morning. My first stop is Pete's Pond, then this forum. You sound perfectly normal to me!
