I've just made a safari of a special kind - Google Maps.

For instance, here is the exact location (center) of Mara Serena in the Mara Triangle,

I guess that the following image shows Chief's Camp airstrip,

Since I've never been there, I don't know the exact location of Mombo. Could someone of you please center this image on the exact location of Mombo, and posting the link?

I was on Goggle earth last night looking at the various countries..I swear I saw a herd of giraffe.
I think we both need a real safari fix sooner than later.

I centered it. I hope this works! Mombo is about in the 10 O'Clock direction from the bottom of the airstrip I belief. Little Mombo is just a bit further away on the same 10 o'clock axis.

Chief's is just a bit to the left of their airstrip also on the 10 o'clock axis.

My source is the Shell Tourist map of the Okavango Delta (based on sat images).

Thank you for your efforts. It would be nice if someone could confirm the location of Mombo from his/her own experience. I know Chief's Camp and Veronica Roodt's map is right with this one, but I already found some inaccuracies in her maps and don't trust them blindly.

Btw, do you already have copies of Veronica's new Ngorongoro and Serengeti maps? Would be interesting to know if these have the same quality than the Botswanean.

I've just taken a look at a map in the Mombo book. According to this map Mombo is located in 8 o'clock direction from the airstrip:

Yes, I have the Serengeti and Ngorongo maps and also the Ngorongoro booklet.

The Ngorongoro map (and book) is very good.

The Serengeti map is very disappointing as it shows only a few of the lodges and virtually none of the camps. The few waypoints that's available are pretty close to mine.

Now I am also disappointed in my Botswana maps! I thought she used GPS to pinpoint all the listed camps such as Mombo, etc?

As far as I know the GPS waypoints are alright (should check them with the ones in Chris McIntyre's book). I assume the problem is the cartographer.

No, I saw it at the Karibu Trade Fair and ordered it over the phone from Veronica's mom Ralie in Johannesburg.
