Columbia Sportswear Titanium Fabric

Does anyone know if the shirts and pants made in this stuff are ok for safaris? I am liking the items I can get cause they are light weight and affordable....or does one have to stick to all cotton?

I am not sure about the columbia sportswear stuff......but lots of the latest apparells thesedays have good moisture wicking technology. However, i dont know if you can get them in all the usual safari colors. Khakis, greys, greens etc etc., I have used a couple of nike cool max running shirts on my last safari.......was comfortable, but so was my regular polo neck cotton shirt.

My wife and I have successfully worn Columbia's Titanium products on safari. Generally, if it's something that would be comfortable to wear on a warm-weather excursion at home, you'll be just fine with it on safari. They wash well too, unlike some all-cotton items that get very wrinkly and take a long time to dry.

I wear another brand of what I think is similar stuff both on safari and in general when I go out in the country here in Thailand - so it gets some good use. I prefer it to cotton, but it is not as comfortable as cotton if it chafes against your skin when you are doing a real, sweaty hike - you want a bit of room in there! For game viewing and a little walk around the camp it'll be perfect.
