Lizzie Borden Bed & Breakfast Museum

Fodor's Review:

Could you stand to sleep in the same house where Lizzie Borden's father and stepmother met a bloody end? Choose from one of the original bedrooms, some of which can be combined into adjoining suites, or three rooms converted from attic space—all are lavishly appointed with fine Victorian pieces. A full breakfast and a house tour are included, as well as a map of the "Lizzie Trail" (related sites in the Fall River area). You can also watch videos about the Borden case. Owners Donald Woods and Lee Ann Wilbur have restored and rejuvenated the entire property, using fabrics, paints, and furnishings that more closely resemble how the Borden house would have looked at the time of its infamy. Pros: Great for those with macabre curiosities, rooms are outfitted with authentic antiques and accoutrements that really set the tone for the Lizzie story. Cons: Attic rooms must share a bathroom, rooms accessed via steep stairways, not for those afraid of ghosts.
