Hotels

B&Bs are king in the Cape, so you can bed down in a former sea captain's home or even a converted church. However, there are also a few larger resorts and even a handful of chain hotels. You'll want to make reservations for inns well in advance during peak summer periods. Smoking is prohibited in all Massachusetts hotels.

Condo and House Rentals

Many travelers to the Cape and the islands rent a house if they're going to stay for a week or longer. Many local real-estate agencies deal with rentals. Be sure to book a property well in advance of your trip: prime properties are often rented out to the same people year after year. Expect rentals on both Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket to be significantly higher than those on the Cape, simply because there are fewer options.
