Fodor's Review

Café-Gallery Cossachok. At this spacious and quirky restaurant, the Russian owner pays homage to her homeland (and other Eastern European countries) in a menu that includes blintzes, beef Stroganoff, and a Moldavian vegetable stew called gouvetch. There is, of course, a variety of chilled vodkas from which to choose. The colorful shawls stretched across the ceiling, the hand-carved furniture, and the jewelry on display add to the festive atmosphere. On Sunday

night there's live music, from tango to jazz. 10 King St., Merchant City, Glasgow, G1 5QP. 0141/553–0733. www.cossachok.com. Closed Mon.
