Fodor's Review

Once the legendary One Devonshire Gardens, frequented by such celebrities as Luciano Pavarotti and Elizabeth Taylor, the Hotel Du Vin Glasgow is still a destination for those in search of luxury. Made up of a group of Victorian houses on a tree-lined street, the hotel is all about elegance, from the sophisticated drawing room to the individually decorated guest rooms with flowing draperies, Egyptian linens, and mahogany furnishings like four-poster beds. The stained-glass windows on the stairwells are an impressive reminder of the glamorous life. The stylish bistro serves such delights as poached lobster and air-dried duck followed by a warm chocolate tart with pear sorbet. The menu lists more than 600 wines and 300 whiskies.
