Elm Tree House

Fodor's Review:

If you'd prefer a friendly experience away from the city center, this B&B should fill the bill. The 1920s historic house takes its name from the large tree in the front garden. Most of the rooms are upstairs, and each has a distinctive look, from the wood-paneled honeymoon suite to the ground-floor garden room with its French doors opening onto the garden. Restaurants are four minutes away. Papanui Road can be busy, but double-glazed windows keep things quiet. Sun streams into the enormous lounge through leaded glass windows, and you can pop an old favorite on the Wurlitzer jukebox.
