Once a harborside office, the Landing Service Building is now set back from the port because of the foreshore's land reclamation. The restored bluestone building houses the information center, a restaurant, and a small maritime museum. Just outside the building sits Captain Cain, cast in bronze. This harbormaster was at the center of a 19th-century scandal when it was revealed that he had been poisoned by his son-in-law.
