Fodor's Review

This backpacker's haven, with its lively, late-opening bar, all-day restaurant, shops and swimming pool attracts active, youthful travelers who often settle in for multiday stays. The Jungle Bar, open noon–midnight, doubles as the local pub and meeting place, and serves three inexpensive meals daily, including varied a la carte breakfasts–everything from A$4 cereal to A$17.50 eggs Benedict) to $8 pizzas, great A$25 steaks; and a A$13.50 speciality pizza/pasta night

on Tuesdays. Sleeping configurations vary: choose from six or eight-bed dorms (A$28/A$25 pp), cabins sleeping up to four (A$95–A$145 per cabin, per night), double cabins with en-suites (A$125) and camping at unpowered beach sites (A$25 per night, per 2-person tent, extra person A$15). An array of tours and activities, including water sports, can be booked on-site; right next door, you'll find a pharmacy, supermarket, ATM, and postbox. After dark, there are pool comps and ping-pong nights, with cash prizes, and live music events (check PK's Facebook page for details).
