What hotel in Hot Springs Arkansas?

Staying two nights in Hot Springs for a bath and massage on our way to Texas for Thanksgiving. Going to the Buckstaff Bath House for spa treatment but what hotel should we chose?

The Arlington is the best known hotel in Hot Springs, but it's old and the last time I saw the rooms they were in need of updating. However, if you want to be close to the Buckstaff (which is wonderful, by the way) it's the best choice.

I was thinking of the Arlington but the reviews were all the way from "Great" to "a real dump". Have you heard of the Majestic? They advertise recently renovaded rooms a block from the Buckstaff.

The Arlington and the Majestic are both located downtown and both are historic properties. (I've also heard that the Arlington needs renovations.) There are many other chain hotels, such as Hampton Inn, La Quinta, etc. in Hot Springs. They're not a block from the Buckstaff, but we've never had a problem parking downtown. (Except during Oaklawn season!) Have a wonderful time!

Everytime I'm in Hot Springs, I stay at the Arlington. I feel it has the most character.

It needs some minor spucing up....but I hope they don't go in and remodel. It feels like you're in another decade when you're there.

Definately go to the Buckstaff for the baths.

I would NOT advise going to the Majestic. The one time we checked in there, we took a brief look at our room and checked out. It was really nasty...stained carpet, and just plain dirty. The Arlington may be old, but I've never seen it dirty.
