Waikiki: Aston Beach Tower or Marriott Resort and Spa?
I can get a two-bedroom unit at the Aston Beach Tower or two oceanfront rooms at The Marriott for very simliar prices. Not sure how much we need a living room/kitchen, since we will be out so much. Which would you choose? Traveling with husband and two older teens. Thank you!!

I'd always opt for a place with a living room given the choice. BUT, the Aston Beach Tower seems to be a little more away from the beach, is that right? If so, I'd take the Marriott (we've stayed there -- it's a pretty typical Marriott, but in a very nice location)

Hi again sf7307!
Actually, I think the two properties are within a block or two of each other. What kind of rooms did you have at The Marriott and were they noisy? I've been reading some comments on tripadvisor that suggests some of the rooms are subject to a lot of noise from the adjacent hotel. That wouldn't go over too well with me since we'll be arriving after a long flight from the East Coast!
How were the hotel facilities? Rooms? Pools? Restaurants? Thanks!!

I've stayed at the Marriott, and before that at the same property when it was the Hawaiian Regent. OK, but smallish rooms. If more than just 2 or 3 nights, I would much rather stay in a condo property. It is nice to have a place to keep snacks on hand and eat a few light meals. The extra space of a living room is a real plus, also.

We have stayed at the Aston Waikiki Beach Tower with a group of 5, both the Tower and the Marriott are in good locations and across the street from the beach. There were some very good things about the Beach Tower, first it is really big which is nice, and the 2 bathrooms is a big plus with 4. We didn't cook but the kitchen was great for snacks and drinks and doing things like cutting up pineapple, also they have a little washer/dryer in the unit that was really handy. Service was really great and they didn't charge extra for anything, parking and wifi were free.
The downside is it is a condo so no bar or restaurnat, but in Waikiki everying is so close that was really not an issue. We would walk to the Moana for the sunset mai Tai.
Have fun
