To my knowledge, Sept is NOT considered a rainy month.

Haven't visited Kauai in September, and historical patterns are no guarantee, but looks as though the averages are in your favor.
Scroll down to Kauai for monthly precip & temperature data:

Have been plenty of times in September, usually there is no rain although once we got a big downpour driving to the North Shore from Lihue (sky was blue with no clouds when we left) but that would be the exception more than the rule. September is a great month, kids are back in school for the most part.

been several x in september . it is still pretty warm so the trade winds are helpful. Never been stopped by rain in our 12 trips there. you can expect some rain every day sometimes just at night but they are short showers and quickly pass. Have a wonderful time on the most beautiful island. aloha
