help with place to stay near Southborough???

Hi to all! My son will be going to a day camp at the St. Marks School in Southborough,MA and I will need a comfortable place to stay for a week or two. I prefer to stay in the nicest town nearby. I know that framingham, marlborough and Westborough are all near. can anyone help with which town is the nicest to spend some time and which is the best hotel in the area.
Thanks so much.

Route 9 has just about every chain hotel you could wish for. Personally I'd chose the chain I like nearest to the school and book that.

I assume that while your son is in school you are going to have time to spare? Come back and we can give you advice for local places to visit.

When will you be here in MA?

are you looking for a hotel room or a room with kitchen facilities? For the life of me can't remember the name, but my father in law has stayed for a week or two at a place not far from St. Mark's that is more like a mini apartment and he is very fussy and has been very pleased - I can ask him tomorrow if you are interested in that vs. a standard hotel.

You could look on St. Mark's web page, most private schools list nearby accomodations for parents.

escargot,

Don't you hate it when that happens???

I know there is a hotel that caters to long stay guests right next door to the Naked Fish in Westboro

Can't remember the name though

nancyjacky, St Marks is roughly midway between Marlboro and Westborough. The Wyndham in Westborough is a pretty nice hotel and would be a very short drive. On route 20 in Marlboro, near 495, are a number of chain hotels with not much to choose between them. You would be fine in either place. If you expect to be spending time in downtown Boston, Framingham is moderately closer and you could stay at the Sheraton Tara. That would be about 10 minutes from St Marks, and is right next to the Mass Pike entrance, about 30 minutes from Boston.

There are a number of suites type places with kitchenettes. There is a Residence Inn in Westboro near the intersection of route9 and 495. And there are a couple other places with names like "Extended Stay Suites" thats why nobody can remember, they have non-descript names like that.

as far as which town is the nicest to spend some time, well, all of them are decent little suburbs, with nothing much to do. Framingham is the largest of the 3 you mention, and has a busy downtown area and a small art museum. also a very large shopping mall, and plenty of chain restaurants. Southborough is lovely to live in, but really there is not much there. I'm not sure what you would like to do while your son is in camp?

I can recommend some restaurants in the area, but perhaps better to wait till after you make your plans.

well i never could remember, so I got this from my step mother in law - it is where she stayed - with the kitchenette, etc.

others she mentioned were: Home Suites Inn, Residence Inn by marriott, Executive Suites and Home Suites Inn - 'she thinks' - she can't remember exact hotel chain names to go with them, as china cat said, they have more non descript names but are often attached or owned by a major chain.
