girls weekend getaway - need nightlife and relaxation
hi all!
i am trying to plan a weekend getaway for about 6 girlfriends, all in our mid-20s. We are coming from NYC, MD, and Chicago, and we are trying to find someplace that is no more than a 5 hour plane ride from anyone.
Our thoughts so far were santa fe, san antonio, or memphis. Does anyone have any feelings on those places? Or maybe can make a completely new suggestion?
Our main goal is to find a fantastic new city. We are looking for someplace warm, but dont need beaches. We want to have have fun things to do during the day, including shopping and outdoor activities. And, we love the nightlife, restaurants, bars and clubs.
Thanks so much for any suggestions

Charleston! I've been to Santa Fe, San Antonio and Memphis, and of those three I think I'd favor Santa Fe, with San Antonio second and Memphis third. I've only been to Charleston once, but found it enthralling.

Not a huge fan of Memphis, but did love Charleston. Santa Fe is still on my "To Do" list.
Have you been (or considered) Boston? Lots to do...arts, culture, sports, party, shopping...and it appears to be a close flight for all of you.

Would definitely think you'd like either Santa Fe or San Antonio based on your criteria. SA would probably be easier to get to with direct flights, although SF is only an hour drive from ABQ. There's plenty to do in SA besides the Riverwalk. SA would certainly be warmer than SF in mid-Nov.
Also agree that you might consider Austin - it's only a little over an hour from SA and has areas (such as 6th St) that are famous for night life. Lots of direct flights to Austin as well.

Love Charleston and Savannah, but would recommend San Antonio -- just because a great new city is only 2 hours away, no matter which direction you travel from there! The Riverwalk is great at night, too.

There are some great things in Memphis, but I would not include it on my list.
I like the Riverwalk, but for lively creative nightlife Austin is far better.
I really love Charleston, the food and the walks are great. It is not a late night city and the nightlife is connected more with the restaurants than with clubs.
Go with Austin!!!
