Early arrival in Phoenix

Hello everyone, we will be landing very early in Phoenix in a few weeks. I am trying to decide whether we should explore somewhere in Phoenix before driving to our hotel in Tucson, or hit the road to Tucson and stop to do something on the way. We've been many times and already seen the Desert Botanical Garden in Phoenix and the nature museum in Tucson. We would also like a recommendation for a good breakfast place either near Sky Harbor or on the road to Tucson. Is there a good hike or other stop that you can recommend? We will be early enough that we would like to be outside if possible. Thank you!

Can you tell us why you chose the early flight into Phoenix instead of a flight to Tucson?
Last time I was in Tucson, I arrived and left on the Amtrak Sunset Limited.

We have flown to Tucson before, but this time we booked to Phoenix because of price and schedule. With limited time, we wanted to make the most out of our travel days and there were fewer flights into Tucson.

You could stop and visit Casa Grande on the way to Tucson. Or head over to Suagaro NP east or west and do a drive through or short hike.

Saguaro would be a good choice. Just off the interstate. Will give you a chance to walk around a bit and enjoy nature in that part of the country.
