Tucson Over Phoenix

Arizona is an awe inspiring Arthritis cure. In my opinion, Phoenix is a drive through, stress city. Tucson area is the place to really live and enjoy a beautiful lifestyle stress free.
Incredible. Double rainbows. Amazing weather. Awesome vistas across deep, steep, broad Spirit canyon lands await you in the a-little-more-green high mountain treasure get-aways surrounding Tucson. Big epic, spirit rocks. Clean, dry air. Clear, azure skies. 365 beautiful days. Certified Zen zone. Comfort. Mount Lemmon. South western culture. Mountain recreation at Biosphere2, Oracle, San Manuel. Gaming, roadie biking and laid back friendship trails, yet, within half an hour from all the sights, sounds attractions and tastes that 'Old Pueblo', old west Tucson, has to offer. The Pascua Yaqiu and Tohono O'odum nations. The Old West. The South East Rangers. The San Pedro River Valley. The wildlife. Two hours to Mexico. Four and a half to the Grand Canyon (take it in on your way down and back). Affordable place to stay in the high mountain villages like San Manuel.

I don't know about 365 beautiful days, although a downpour is certainly beautiful in the desert. Having lived in SE AZ 25 years I've been caught in some pretty substantially flooded streets in Tucson but yes, it's better than a snowstorm. Tucson is nice for a city, to be sure, but nowhere is perfect.

I think this is a member of the Tucson Chamber of Commerce.

Tucson benefits as Phoenix/Sxottsdale has turned into a smaller version of LA with sprawl and heavy traffic. Hotter in Phoenix than Tucson, +10 degrees yesterday.

Another vote for Tucson. We live in Las Cruces, NM and we go to Tucson for fun a couple of times a year. One of our favorite activities is the Sonoran Desert Botanical Park with the Raptor Flight Show. We have been to see it three times, two with visiting family or friends. Tucson is bigger and more spread out than Las Cruces, which was our final choice after spending time in Phoenix, Tucson, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque but Tucson does have more of everything in terms of outdoor activities, shopping, etc. I agree about the temperature differences, Phoenix is hotter than Tucson. Las Cruces is usually 15-20 degrees cooler than Phoenix due to elevation.

I should qualify my response, because I went to Tucson twice in the 70s and loved my visits. I still remember my time there fondly. I've been to PHX dozens of unrememberable times since, even to the finest Scottsdale resorts and only feel indifference
