Can anyone give advice to empty-nesters on what is most fun to do in Disneyworld/Orlando without kids? Should we see all 4 theme parks or skip some and see other Orlando sites? We'll be there a week in early Feb staying at the Contemporary.

We are also empty nesters and stayed a week at Disney. Depends on your interests. We liked Epcot, went to MGM, Sea World, of course there are kids everywhere but we still had a great time. You can also consider a 4 day park 3 day cruise on the Disney ship. That is what we did. It breaks up the week. We also did one of the water parks but they are probably not open in Feb. We were busy and enjoyed every minute of Disney. Have fun.

Tanzi, As an Orlando resident I can tell you that there are lots of things for an adult at Disney world. First thing is you do not have to go to a park every day there are lots of other things to do. The hotels themselves offer many things, There are several golf courses, tennis courts, etc. Go to wdwig.com for some very good info. Also there are more restaurants on property than you can imagine. My advise would be to just go, stay on site and do what you want, when you want and just relax and have fun.

We love going to Disney World - and we don't have kids..... Our favorite place is Sea World - I LOVE that place..... Then we like Epcot, then Universal - there are 2 parks there. The original one which I think is the best, and the new one which does have the Jurassic Park stuff (which I loved). Also, there is Pleasure Island in the evenings - they had a great Comedy place, and I think a Cirque du Soleil theater - plus other restaurants/bars/dance places. There is also an area in Orlando - I can't think of the name - which has a bunch of restaurants and shops clustered together.... I'm sure someone will have it.... We also liked the Wild Animal Park (or Disney's equivalent) - that was pretty neat. We're not really into water parks - so we haven't actually been to them......

WDW without kids is GREAT. You can do whatever you want. You might want to visit the Universal Parks. I LOVE Islands of Adventure at Universal. For LOADS of information on WDW and other Orlando attracitons, go to www.disboards.com

My husband and I have been to WDW 3 times and we have no kids! Since you are staying a week, you might want to stick to the WDW parks rather than branching out a lot. I have more fun at WDW when I start out early in the morning, come back to the room mid-day for a nap or swim, and then go back to the park in the evening. The parks are great, but they require lots of walking and are very big, so working in some breaks really helps. Since you are staying on WDW property, you might also want to visit other properties. They are all interesting and fun to see. WDW is so big that you really can stay within it's boundaries and still not see and do everything. For a nice dinner, I highly recommend Bouma at the Animal Kingdom Logde. It's a buffet of African foods and they are delicious. It's a great way to try some different foods. And, for dessert, try the zebra domes. They are FABULOUS!! I have enjoyed each of the 4 parks, but I think the Magic Kingdom and MGM are my favorites. Animal Kingdom is great, but be sure to get there first thing for the Safari ride. This park is huge and can easily wear you down. You should also try to see the Lion King show there--it's great! Have a wonderful trip!!
