Columbus area drug scene?

I was just told that drug usage in/around Columbus is pretty high, true or false?

We plan to move there soon. Thank you.

Sure there are college kids smoking pot, it won't affect you. Drug usage in Columbus
is no worse than anywhere else, and much less than in affluent suburbs.

Back in the day, a lot of the campus housing was on Summit & lots of the drug dealers lived on 4th, east of campus (2 blks over). It is a college town so you have the same elements you would have at most any college. I doubt you'll be residing in that area.

It's a party town due to the large number of college students. Though alcohol is by far the drug of choice.

Avoid the area around OSU.

Thanks all (at least the good answers....).

We will probably live in/around Worthington or Dublin. Kid is only 7, but it never hurts to be informed.

All the best!

Gpaul, information and communication about drugs are the best way to keep them away from your kid.

Good luck!

Dublin is frequently rated in all those "Best of" rankings as a top place to live in the country, not just in Ohio. Its a great place to live if you can afford the real estate.

I agree that drug use is everywhere. I've taught at a private parochial school in a city, a blue collar public school in the suburbs, and at a small rural school and alcohol and drugs were/are available at all of them.
