Car rental vs taxi from turtle bay to Honolulu airport
I am wondering if my niece drives me out to turtle bay how much it would be to taxi back to the airport for 2 people. I will be sight seeing with my niece a couple days and hate the idea of a rental car sitting idle. Would like a cost comparison before I decide.

I'm sure a taxi will cost well over $100 and probably $200. A car rental makes more sense. But there may also be bus and/or shared van services. Any of these will be cheaper than a taxi, but they'll still be fairly expensive. It's a long drive.

You can't take luggage on the bus here on Maui. I think that's the same situation on Oahu. Rent a car, and leave *plenty* of time to get to the airport. Hope you will be going 'against' the traffic in Honolulu.

so are you staying in Turtle Bay because you will have to figure the expense of parking charges into that budget. Can you rent a car out in Turtle Bay? If it is just a day trip then rent a car and save your niece the time and effort of getting you out there.
