Best room request at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort

What is the best room to request (less walking and close to pool /desk)? We will have a car so don't need the bus. Thanks.

The grounds at the Coronado Springs are so extensive (and so lovely) that it's hard to tell you where the best rooms would be. I would recommend you call the Coronado Springs direct and ask them for their advice. We stayed at this property earlier this year for a convention, and the grounds are very beautiful and spacious. I think you'll have a good time.
We, too, had a car, but found the bus was such a nice plus. It comes by something like every 15 to 30 minutes, and will take you to any or all Disney shopping, attractions, and other resorts. You can save a lot of time and hassel taking the bus, especially to Disneyworld, Epcot, MGM or Animal Kingdom because you'll save on the parking fees as well.

We stayed at the Coronado back in January. Ranchos section. Everything that I read was that it was so far away from everything. That was somewhat true (10 minute walk to El Centro), but it was not that bad. I would say it was 5 to 7 minutes to the big pool and 1 minute to the smaller one, and about 10 to 12 to the food. No big deal compared to the waits in lines at the parks. I'd give the resort a 7 or 8 on a scale of 1 to 10. It had super transportation to and from the parks (I know you don't need it, but I would use it if it's not busy, because it is very efficient), the food was pretty decent considering all the traffic there. It actually wasn't too busy when we were there, but there were a couple of convention things going on (could hardly notice). The pool was great with a big fun waterslide. The rooms were smaller than a nice hotel, and borderline tacky, but they were well kept, and it was fun there. I would definetely stay there way before any all-star resort, but it is a moderate resort, not to be confused with a deluxe. You could also drive your car to the food like I did at night (very easy). Cabanas and Casitas are the close ones though. I know that I enjoyed my stay at the Ranchos. Have a great time.
