Not being a major metropolitan area, your best bet will be one of the nicer hotel chains. Search the internet for the Chamber of Commerce in Vicksburg. I'll also bet there's a B&B somewhere in the area that's pretty nice. Odds are you'll be able to find that thru the CoC website as well.

Sarah, Vicksburg is a town of only 29,000 people. It won't have a Ritz Carlton or any type of business hotel being so small.
There is a place called the Cedar Grove Mansion Inn which is small (16 rooms or so) and which is supposed to be decent if you like B&B type places.

Nearby Natchez surely is the major tourist magnet with hotels and amenities (it once had more millionares than New York City, and has mansions galore). If you can possibly stay there, it's one of the most interesting inland tourist towns in the country. I know Vicksburg has the battlefield, but a quick look at the town just gave an impression of a dying, shabby village.

Vicksburg has many bed and breakfasts in antebellum homes. I live only 40 miles from there, so I haven't stayed at any. Your best bet is probably one of the casino hotels. If the casino iteself is any indication of the rooms, start with Ameristar then Isle of Capri.
BTW, Natchez may look close on the map. It's not.
