Are we getting ripped off by owner at Signature MGM?
We have booked a suite at Signature MGM Grand in Las Vegas directly through an owner for a week in July. First the owner told us we should pay the hotel directly after we arrive for housekeeping for the week ($190). Now he's telling us to pay him directly, that the Signature recently changed their policy and renters should pay the owner directly for maid service. However, when I called the Signature, the clerk would not give me a definate answer. She was very vague, and said we must speak to the owner we made arrangements with. It's either their policy or not, but she was unclear. Their was no notation on our reservation. We don't want to arrive and be asked for the cleaning fee again from the hotel.
Any help?

Yes, but it's still the Signature that provides daily maid service. We were also told we wouldn't be charged the $15 daily resort fee.
Update: He called again and said if it makes us uncomfortable, we can pay him the cleaning fee after we checkout. This seems strange to me.

I was reading this and thought it pretty clear and straighforward, right up to and including the agent at the hotel telling you to speak to the owner. But what in the world is "strange" about the owner telling you if it makes you uncomfortable that you can pay him after check out? That basically means he's offering to let you find out for yourself if the hotel charges you and if they do, then you won't have to pay him. The only "strange" thing I see about that, is that he sounds like an extremely lenient owner who is bending over backwards to please you. I'd say you should STOP worrying.
