Any tips for Legoland?

Any Legoland experts out there willing to share their tricks and tips? We are planing to go on a Tuesday in August and would like to know how beat the crowds, what rides to go on first, where to eat, what to see and what to skip, et cetera. We plan to arrive early.

Also any information on the kennels? Are they air condtioned?

Thank You!!

Hi Sparklegem,
It has been six years since we visited Legoland but we loved it. My youngest son, who was seven at the time, loved the Driving School. The little cars are not on a track - there is a brake and gas pedal and the kids drive around "streets" with traffic lights. Don't miss the large lego exhibit of famous places, cities - forget what it was called. I'm sure if you go on their website, you can view the park layout and decide what sounds like must-sees for you. My youngest is now 13 and still talks about going back - and he is not a lego fanatic! Try the apple fries! Have a great time!

Hi. I cannot add too much because mma pretty much covers it. I don't think a Tuesday should be that bad, just make sure the check the opening times, because they have a strange schedule of when it is open and closed. Since you are going during summer it should not be an issue. We usually head straight to the cars, the kids really love them, and they have really cute licenses that you can purchase as a souvenier.

The problem, is that you have to pass a water play area and giant playground on the way, so we always seem to get side tracked. Then we head over to the Knights area. Pirate Shores looked really great, but since it was December, we did not stop. That seems like a great place to go after the cars. I believe there are lots of water activites over there. So be sure to bring extra clothes. My kids (twin 5 year olds)usually get themselves soaked.

Our favorite restraunt is the bar-b-que restraunt, which is right by the large log play structure. On the whole, I think Legoland has really good food and great merchandise.

Have the children wear quick drying swimwear - it's August and it's hot, and they'll have fun playing with water.

Head for the Driving School first as it's very popular. Tell the kids you'll return to the water later and that there are other things to do first.

Buy a 2 day pass so you can cover it all in 2 days.

Mini-Land is great - for adults, but the kids might not know the places but the adults will love seeing the places they recognize.

We have been to Legoland at Carlsbad (Calif), Windsor (England) and Billund (Denmark - this one has superb Legoland Hotel attached to the park).

The miniparks are different in the 3 above parks.

ENJOY!!

Yes, the driving school is probably the best thing there, but if you want to go on the pedal roller coaster thing in the center of the park, that line is really long and slow and I would advise hitting that up first before the driving school, which has a faster moving line.

Thank you for all the super great suggestions!! I am taking notes. I am glad to hear that so many people have had such a fun time at Legoland. I wasn't sure if it would be a fun place to go.

Thanks Again!!
