What is the temperature like end of May early June?
Hello,
What is the temperature like in Lima, Cusco, Ollytambo, and Machu Pichu End of May through beginning of June? Do I need a winter coat or just a light jacket?

Layers, layers! It can be warm during the day as the sun is particularly strong at this altitude but very cold at night. A fleece is essential IMO. We also took thermals as we were staying in hostals that did not have great heating at night.

Layers for sure! In the Sacred Valley it gets hot during the middle of the day, but is very cold in the morning and at night. Your best bet for a jacket is a fleece along with a windbreaker. The kind that zip together are great (I have a North Face combo). There will be times you want just one part of the combo, but at night you will want both. Buy a cheap knitted hat and gloves/mittens when you get to the Sacred Valley.

Well if are thinking on travel to the coast specially ica region it get a litle bit cold at night and mornings that u might only need a sweater but after 10 am the sun comes out and it's warm-hot specially in the oasis o huacachina

We are headed there in May as well and I'm told Lima has very little variation in temps from 60 to 72 with 66 average and very little rain, just mist. I'm taking shorts!
Cusco and MP average 36 to 70 with 53 average so it'll be layers but not too many so I don't have to pack a jacket around MP as it warms up during the day.

Lima in May reminds me of San Francisco. Can feel very chilly at night if there is heavy fog. I never wear shorts in Peru, except in the Amazon.
Remember the seasons are reversed. May is the start of winter. When you go up to the Andes it will be quite cold at night, but pleasant in the sunshine.
In the jungle it is hot most of the year, but in May you can get a cold front coming through, might drop into the 70's otherwise it is so humid you will want to wear as little as possible other than insect repellent.

We are also going in May - Planning on fleeces, gortex shell, hiking pants, jeans, long and short sleeved tees, cashmere sweater, long underwear top. Those are the layers we took to the same altitude in Ecuador at the same time of year and they worked well.
Our boys, 19 and 22, want to bring trailrunners instead of hiking boots - Are those good enough for MP? (We will climb HP, but not doing the Inca trail.)

As long as they have nonslip soles. Not just lugged soles. I have some trail runners that are really for dry weather only and get scary slippery on wet surfaces. It is possible that you will get enough rain or mist in May that there is moisture and there are lots of stone steps.
