Green after rains have tapered off
Hordes of tourists have not arrived yet...
Depends on where you are going.
The Andes are colder but less rain during our summer. Spring or Fall probably best. December starts the rainy season and higher prices around the holidays. However I went one year in January and although it should have been rainy it was fine. The next year tourists were stranded due to the train tracks washing away.
In May Lima is foggy and cool, but for that reason you often can get good flight deals. May is also a good time to visit the coast and the Amazon around Iquitos for high-water touring.
I would think that Late-October, November will also be a good season to go, because it will be spring time in South America isn't it?
thanks!
