Urgent - Hyatt Regency Cancun - what's the story with the beach?

Hi everyone,
My husband and I have reviewed the various hotels in Cancun as far as we can - our key criteria is to stay in a hotel with a sandy beach and sea safe for swimming / snorkelling / diving, etc.

Of all the hotels we chose to book at the Hyatt Regency because of its location BUT we are having doubts about the beach access.

Can anyone please confirm if the hotel is really directly on a sandy beach, as the pictures we've been able to source seem to show?

This will be our first trip to Cancun, and we're celebrating a special wedding anniversary; we're are there for 1 week from 25th February to 2nd March, and are desperately in need of a beach trip, so I'd rather book elsewhere while we have time to do so.

In case it helps to know this, we booked a Regency Club King room with Ocean View, a lot of reviews we've read commented that the standard rooms are below par.

We would be so grateful for your help! Thank you one and all

Stayed there a couple of years ago and confirm it! Best place along the beach. O ee 60 meters of beach front access and cabanas. Great pools too. Try the tiburon watermelon drink at the swim up bar! Awesome!!!

Check out Live Aqua. We are staying here now, second visit. Got a great deal for a huge AQua Suite with enormous terrace through hotels.com. Hotel has beautiful befachfront and is nowf AI, but so reasonable if you can land an online , The suites are much nicer and. cheaper than the Ritz Carlton, same area.

wanted to add that the beach in front of most of the hotels has been red flagged this week due to high winds, so best to choose a hotel with excellent pools if you care about swimming. Sorry for poor typing!
