We have exchanged our time share for a week at the Raintrees in San Jose del Cabo in Nov. I was wondering if anyone has stayed there. Did you like it and any heads up or advice you can pass along would be appreciated.

Also can you recommend restaurants, activities that you enjoyed would also be great to have.

I do not know anything about Club Regina, but it is on the highway between CSL and SJdel Cabo. Pretty much half way between the two, perhaps a little closer to SJ. You will need a shuttle/car/bus/taxi to get around. Taxis are very expensive. The bus is very easy and cheap.

San Jose is more low key and charming. We have eaten at Tropicana, Diamiante, a little french cafe for breakfast, and out of town, on the East Cape at Buzzard's. All very good!!

On the highway, we have stopped in at Zipper's for lunch on the beach. Nice beach place with good, not fancy food.

CSL has more going on as far as restaurants, bars etc. We like Mi Casa$$$, Edith's$$$$, La Golondrina$$$, Tabasco's(on the beach for breakfast)$, the Office$ for lunch. These are just a few of many to choose from. Here is a link to Trapper's list for a run down:

Activities: You will be too early for whale watching. We have snorkeled with Pez Gato at Santa Maria beach. The boat ride was fun, but the water was a little too cool for me(not like Hawaii or Caribbean), but still fun.

Our daughter and her friend went ziplining/rappelling with Cabo Adventures. They had a great time! They have also rented jet skis at Medano Beach in CSL. My husband likes to fish, but this is very expensive unless you share a boat.

There are day tours to Todos Santos, boat tours, marlin fishing($$$$), horseback riding, ATV riding.

We mostly just relax, hang out and drink and eat at the pool.

When are you going in November? Early Nov. can still be warm/humid. We went the end of October, just after a hurricane and the desert was beautiful and in bloom. There were tons of butterflies everywhere.

seafood was great everywhere Nov good time to go...

opps as you may know if you go to the lounge - j & j in san diego are my daughter and son-in-law and i am using their computer as i am baby sitting my adorable little baby grandson.

MichelleY beat me to it. Trip Advisor has an excellent Cabo San Lucas forum. They totally helped me plan my first trip there a couple years ago.

Problem with not renting a car is the location of your resort. That it is not actually IN either town but in between. I'm not sure "buses or taxis" are going to work for what you describe.

I used TransCabo shuttle service booked through this website for my airport round-trip. You can check it out for an idea of other local transportation ideas http://www.cabosanlucastours.net/ Besides private drivers it's the one most often recommended on TA.

You can certainly do your trip without a rental car especially if stayed mostly at your resort. But since you mentioned restaurants and activities am thinking you want to be out & about.

Do check a map of the area so you'll see what I mean. The Los Cabos airport, town of San Jose del Cabo, the coastline stretch of the tourist "Corridor" in between, then the town of Cabo San Lucas are pretty spread out (29 miles airport to CSL).

Hi Suze, we would like to be out and explore the area as much as possible so I appreciate the local transportation link. I don't mind getting a car rental, but I have a feeling the garage parking fees at the timeshare resort will be really high. We will check out TarnsCabo Shuttle for the airprt round trip.
