Mexicanna vs Taca airlines

We are planning a trip to Costa Rica. The best airfares are through Mexicana Airlines or Taca Airlines. Taca is slightly cheaper, but the fares are close. Any comments on whether one is better than the other?

We flew Taca from SFO to San Jose, Costa Rica. They were fine and would fly them again. They would probably have better connections going into CR.

Thanks Michelle. I'd never heard of Taca before and am glad to hear from someone whofxdS used them. Of course, I've never flown to that area before.

traveler2005: Our flight had a 30 minute connection in San Salvador. Needless to say, I was nervous. Fodorites assured me that the San Salvador airport was very small and easy, plus there are many other connections going on to San Jose. No problems at all. Good luck.

I have flown both with good experience but really think Taca is better overall. Taca/Lacsa is the "national airline of Costa Rica" but fly many places.
