Hotel Plaza Francia in Buenos Aires?

I'm finalizing plans for a trip later this month. Does anyone have any advice on the Hotel Plaza Francia in Buenos Aires? I'm looking for a central, safe location with good service/comfort.

Thanks!

Once a very nice hotel the Plaza Francia is, politely stated, past its prime....but a great location in Recoleta...
When you say "central" do you mean downtown or Recoleta....Recolata is a "suburb", a short taxi ride away from downtown....
Given your requirements, try Loisuites Recoleta (if, indeed, you want to stay away from downtown) or Howard Johnsons Plaza on the Florida Street Pedestrian mall downtown...both are safe with good service....Rates at Loisuites should be a little over 1ooUSD and 70USD at HoJo's for a king room....

The location can't be beat, but the hotel is not what it used to be.
For a great value, check our fully equipped apartments in Recoleta at www.apartmentsbuenosaires.com

Hi,
We just got back this weekend - stayed in Recoleta and truly enjoyed the are! We visited down town, Retiro, San Telmo, Porto Modero and frankly Recoleta felt like the nicest and safest location with walking access to all of the above, some farther than others. The only tourist destination that was truly far was La Boca, and you definitely don't want to stay there. Fell free to email me for more details .

FYI to anyone who is interested in the Plaza Francia- I just got back from my trip and enjoyed my stay at the Plaza Francia. It was in a good location, the staff was very friendly, and I got a great rate (55 USD/night with b-fast). I would definitely recommend the place!
