Could Motion Scikness be a Problem on the Ferry to Isla Mujeres or Cozumel?
Has anyone experienced motions sickness on the ferry to Cozumel or Isla Mujeres?
I am very sensitive motion and worried that it might ruin our vacation. It has been eighteen years since I visited either island so I can not remember what the crossing is like.

I'm not prone to getting motion sickness. That said I felt pretty rotton for a couple hours after our return to PDC from Cozumel. Lots of people on the ferry were vomiting during the transit. I was outside on the way over, I don't know if the water was smoother or the great outdoors was a factor, but I was fine going that way.
Never had any problems coming or going to Isla Mujeres. Always smooth, it's also quite a bit shorter.

Yes you can get sick and I did, but it all depends on the weather.. To avoid that, you can buy at any Walgreens these wrist bands for motion sickness. It is amazing how they work well!! You won't feel anything using this..
Good luck!

I have been on both those ferries quite a few times.
I am not prone to seasickness but my DH is.
Never had or seen a problem on the one from/to IM. It's only 15 minutes and the water is not as rough as to Coz.
On the PDC/Coz one it is a different story. While I've never had a problem, I have seen others who have. It can get pretty rough. The people who sit outside in the back never seem to get sick. The worst place is inside downstairs in the front.
I don't think it would ruin your vacation, but it would not be much fun were you to have a problem.

The ferry to IM takes all of 10 to 15 minutes and the water is generally pretty smooth. Plus the ferry moves fast so it is doubtful you would get seasick. In all the years we have been going to IM I really can't remember seeing anyone getting ill. Go and enjoy!!
