Zurich Airport Hotel or near railway station in Zurich, or elsewhere?

We will be flying out of Zurich in July. We're only going to Zurich to fly out as that's where we were able to get FF seats. We have early flights (7am - 10am, there are 12 of us going in different directions).

The day before we will be driving from Annecy via Bern. I currently have vehicles booked to drop off on the morning of our departure at the airport, with the two drivers of those vehicles on the 10am flights.

I'm trying to figure out the best place to stay and when/where to drop off the cars.

Here's what I see as our options...

1. Find a hotel with parking/shuttle near the airport. The two with super early (7am) flights can take the hotel shuttle, and the rest (9:30 - 10am flights) can go in the vehicles.

2. Drop the cars off the night before at the airport and stay at hotel with shuttle. (not sure if this has any benefit over #1, especially since I don't think it's any cheaper)

3. Find a hotel near the train station in Zurich, drop the car off the night before, everyone takes the train when they need to for their flights.

4. ????

Note: We are flying out on Sunday morning.

Having never been to Zurich before I'm not quite sure which is best. This is the last night of a 2 week family holiday spent mostly in France so I want to have a nice/Swiss dinner, but it needs to be pretty low key as well since we'll be driving/touristing a lot that day.

All thoughts/ideas are welcome. Thanks!

Modestly priced hotel (for Zürich, one of the most expensive cities in the world) near Zürich HBH is Pension St. Josef.

Tschüß

Radisson BLU Airport is just across the street from the airport building I understand so even a shuttle is not necessary, you can just walk to get to the airport. or Mövenpick Airport (not sure if walkable but it does have shuttle). Officially 5* but thier rates are usually not like 5*.

If there is a shuttle, you need to make sure it's running early enough. Scroll down for the list of hotels with shuttles.

I don't think I would want to return cars the morning of the flight (even if I have a 10am departure).

Nothing beats the Raddisson Blu for convenience - no shuttle needed, it's just across a laneway from the airport, dead easy to reach on foot. But, it's expensive (less so on weekends, but still up there).

Welcome Inn in Kloten has worked well for us on several occasions - walking distance to a train stop, free shuttle to the airport, breakfast included, quiet, several good restaurants within walking distance and reasonably priced.
