Which Vienna hotel: Eventhotel/pyramide or Hotel Favorita?

Our package includes either one of these hotels in Vienna. Which would be better?

Do you have any other choices?

The Event is more of a Congress Center and is not in Vienna itself, but some distance away. It would require a train or subway- bus ride- 40 minutes? to city center.

The< Favorita in the 10th District ( Laxenburgstrasse 10) is still not overly convenient.
It is a 4 star hotel and would provide comfortable rooms, but is not really in a tourist area.
It is a subway ride to the city center and most tourist sites ( Subway U-1 about 10 minutes.

Thus the Favorita is the more convenient choice. As they are both part of the same chain, I would expect similar quality and service.

Two other hotels for a slightly higher price in the package are: the Holiday Inn Vienna City and Arcotel Boltzmann. Would either of these be preferable? Thanks for responding.

The Boltzman or holiday Inn would be more convenient choices.

The Boltzmann is small , relatively new, and not far from the center. Streetcars 37, 38, 41 Bus 40a
This would be in a quiet area not far from US Embassy.

The Holiday Inn is about the same distance from city center - is in a busier area. Bus 59a? or subway U-4 to center. Typical Holiday Inn style.

Have a look on their web sites and decide which is more your style.

If their prices are not too much higher than the others you mentioned, they are much better choices.
You will save much travel time and more choices of restaurants and shopping.

Molker is perfectly right (as usually ). I would recommend neither Eventhotel Pyramide nor Hotel Favorita. Between Arcotel and Holiday Inn, I would choose Arcotel because of the surrounding area. It is near the city center and also near Liechtenstein Museum which opened recently and shows baroque paintings in a refurbished little palace (www. liechtensteinmuseum.at)
