which train to use for day trips while in Denmark

While taking day trips from Copenhagen which train system is best? Eurail pass or The Scan rail pass? We have about 4 days we will use the pass..

For daytrips, there is something called a 24-hour ticket which lets you travel as much as you want in a certain distance (fairly far). You can also use the klippenkort for trips as far as Roskilde. At least this is how it was three years ago.

It's possible the Copenhagen Card is good for transport to many daytrip locations, but I'm not positive.

I can't imagine that either the Eurail pass or ScanRail pass is a good deal for just daytrips from Copenhagen.

The Copenhagen Card not only offers free transportation throughout a wide area around Copenhagen, which would include any day trip you would want to take, it also includes free admission to many attractions, and discounts on others. You can order online before you go, or pick one up at many places, including the tourism office, the airport, many hotels and hostels, etc. I think we may have come out about even with the ones we bought, but not having to worry about how many times to clip my card or what zone we were in and what zone we were travelling to made life a lot less stressful. You can find info at www.copenhagencard.com

Hi P,

Before buying any passes, enter your itinerary at www.railsaver.com and click "only if it saves money".
